In the mountains of Xishuangbanna near the borders to Myanmar lives this peculiar Cucurbitaceae. Its fire red fruits are hanging down like Christmas ornaments from forest trees during winter.
In our garden, one seedling germinating from a seed in February covered our house within 2 months completely. The vine grows a strong liana and very weird flowers.
